Very nice, can't beat a bit of EL-Wire wafting! As for the broken orb! Very cool! I'm trying to figure out how you did it! My best guess would be a switch which you turn off just as the lights pass halfway then back on again for the bottom! Am I on the right lines? :)

Exactly right, my power supply has a push switch to turn it on, it doesn't lock so turns off again when I release it. Timing is the difficult bit, it's not easy to turn it on in the right place while spinning.
